The COVID-19 pandemic has had major effects on our lives. Many individuals who were infected by the virus are having difficulties in fulfilling their daily activities due to post-COVID stress. Public health suggestions to maintain social distancing is necessary to reduce the spread of COVID-19, but it can make us feel isolated and lonely, thus increases stress and anxieties. Learning to cope with stress in a healthy way will make us, and the people we care about become more resilient against such stresses. We believe it is time to talk about post-COVID stress and how it could be managed.
The virtual event “Discussion on Post-COVID Stress and its Management” organized by Centre for Social Change will feature the voices of those who have personally dealt with COVID-19 infection, doctors and psychologists who oversee infected patients.
Speakers:
- Dr. Prakash Sapkota is a Resident Doctor at Dhulikhel Hospital. In this situation he had directly worked with numbers of Covid patients.
- Mr. Bibek Thapa is Social Work Student of TU. He is Vice President at Youth of Shangri-La and also event manager in Open Space Network. He will be providing insights from the perspective of a COVID patient.
- Ms. Kripa Sigdel is founder and Executive Director of Psychbigyaan Network Nepal-PNN. She is also currently working as a faculty in Department of Psychology, Padmakanya Multiple Campus, Tribhuvan University. Her expertise and interests are in Academics/Research, Counselling, Training and Program Coordination.
